I m presiding over a custody case. The plaintiff had raped the defendant 5 years ago for which he had pleaded?

The plaintiff had raped the defendant 5 years ago for which he had pleaded guilty and served 4yrs and is now out on parole. A court ordered risk evaluation of the defendant has revealed that the plaintiff poses no risk to his son conceived thru rape. The close proximity of the residential addresses of the 2 parents makes a shared custody possible which I think wud be the best option in this matter. Any opinions will be appreciated.
