At the Last Supper, did Jesus himself partake of the bread and wine (more in details)?

from what I remember, he broke bread and said, Do this in remembrance of me, and said that the person who would betray him would put his hand in the dish at the same time that he did, so he at least picked up the food and poured the wine.
